Marc Jacobs – Elegant und hochpreisig
Die Geschichte des Unternehmens Marc Jacobs begann im Jahr 1986 mit der Gründung durch den Designer, dem die Marke ihren Namen zu verdanken hat: Marc Jacobs. Lange Zeit arbeitete Jacobs nicht nur für seine eigene Marke, sondern brachte auch Mode für andere Marken heraus. Zwischenzeitlich war er unter anderem als Chefdesigner bei Louis Vuitton und Perry Ellis verpflichtet. Erst als er bei Perry Ellis wegen einer gescheiterten Kollektion von seinen Pflichten entbunden wurde, war er dazu in der Lage, sich voll und ganz auf die Geschäfte bei Marc Jacobs zu fokussieren und sein Label in die Top-Klasse der Unternehmen für Luxusmode aufsteigen zu lassen.
Seit jeher steht Marc Jacobs für sehr elegante, dafür aber auch sehr hochpreisige Kleidung. Außerdem legt sich die Marke nie auf einen bestimmten Style fest und wechselt die modische Ausrichtung meist in einem Rhythmus von einem Jahr.
Ein unverwechselbarer Style
Trotz dieser ständigen Änderungen der Ausrichtung sind die Styles von Marc Jacobs immer wiederzuerkennen. Der Designer prägte die Modelandschaft mit seinem ganz eigenen und komplett unverwechselbarem Stil, der ihn so berühmt und so erfolgreich machte. Vor allem für seine Basics, zum Beispiel für die relativ schlicht gestaltete, aber gleichzeitig modisch beeindruckenden Shirts, erhält Jacobs immer wieder viel Zuspruch. Auch die schmal geschnittenen Anzüge für das Business oder Accessoires wie Handtaschen mit dazu passenden Geldbörsen brachten der Firma viel Lob ein. Eher gewöhnungsbedürftig sind hingegen immer wieder die Kleider, die Marc Jacobs veröffentlicht. Nur selten fertigt die Firma hier schlichte Modelle, in der Regel werden grelle Farben oder ungewöhnliche Muster verwendet.
