Zimmermann – Down under conquers the catwalks of the world
When the two sisters Nicky and Simone got together in 1991 and founded the Zimmermann label, they certainly had no idea that their creations would one day be sold in over 200 boutiques and 15 of their own stores, loved by numerous celebrities, including Miranda Kerr would no longer be missing from any of the famous fashion shows.
The beginnings of today's fashion empire lie in their parents' garage, from where they sold their first designs and presented their swimwear collection in various showrooms across the United States. The playful, feminine and unconventional style of the duo from Australia was well received and so the two opened their first boutique in Sidney just one year after founding the label. The division of labor was clear from the start: Nicky, who graduated from the East Sidney Technical College in fashion design, took care of the creative part, while Simone, who comes from the marketing area, took over the business side.
Four years later, the siblings presented their first collection at Australian Fashion Week. From this point on, the entry into the fashion Olympus was unstoppable and Zimmermann quickly established himself in the luxury fashion world.
